Otaihape Alpine Club, Iwikau Village, Whakapapa Ski Field, Mt Ruapehu.
Our lodge is a ten to fifteen minute walk from the car park up the rock garden ski run. For those who arrive before the chairlifts close, its a great idea to catch a lift up on the first chair and either ski or enjoy a short walk down.
Being the second lodge built on the ski field, the site was chosen to take advantage of arguably the best view of Ngaruahoe and Mt Taranaki.

Route to Lodge
Directions:
Follow the ski run behind Lorenz’s Bar & Cafe, walk up past the bottom of the rock garden chair and bear left at the top of the rise, passing under both chair lifts. Follow the ski run / track past the old Victoria Lodge and a bit further up on the left is Iwikau Lodge. Turn left and pass in front of Iwikau then turn right and walk up to Otaihape Lodge.
